how do you make your dolls?
Sorry for the late response, July is always kind of a crazy month for me.
For my articulated dolls I like to start with the head. I wrap tinfoil around a moderately thick wire to make the base for it
Then add polymer over top
I poke holes in the hands and feet so they can connect to the arms and legs
After baking the clay pieces I make a simple wire skeleton
Use the wire that the head was sculpted onto to connect it to the body (and wrap some thin wire around it to keep it sturdy)
After that I'll use a little bit more tinfoil to shape the waist, and sometimes add some more clay around the neck
I cut long strips of quilting batting to wrap around the wire body (I gave the legs a weird bend with this doll, but I usually just keep them straight)
I always save attaching the hands and feet until the very end so I don't have to worry about the clothes I make fitting over them.
I didn't photograph the process of making clothes for this particular doll since I used really different techniques from what I normally do, but I'd be happy to do a step by step of how I usually make doll clothes if people are interested!
