I know I already sent a request but today I was a very brave boy and played subnautica -0 without crying in fear bc I was thinking about Frieza and it soothed me - so, rare request not involving the one type of reader I've been requesting for!!! striking while the iron is still sizzling I am FRIED
Could I get Frieza (romantical hcs) with a GN/NB reader who works for him and basically scouts out new planets for him (like, maybe looking for resources he might want or whatever seems valuable to him) very loyally regardless of what reservations/fears they might have. Maybe reader just got back from a particularly scary exploration and they're very much tweaking tf out about it. I doubt he'd be like *actually* comforting, but it could still be interesting.
Like always, put any twist you want on this, I am flexible.
OMG I love Subnautica! I personally think the first game is scarier than Below Zero, but anyway.
Frieza x GN/NB Reader - Romantic(ish) HCs
âComfortâ from Frieza, AKA: something mildly less traumatic than usual.
General Dynamic
Frieza values you not for sentiment at first, but for efficiency. You scout planets with precision, reporting resource locations, political weaknesses, and anything profitable to him.
And you do it loyally. Even when youâre terrified, even when the mission is dangerous, you always return with results.
Thatâs what gets his attention: not bravery, but unwavering service despite fear. He finds it⌠intriguing. Admirable, in his own twisted way.
How He Treats You Normally
Frieza is shamelessly proud of having someone like you among his forces. Heâd never say âI care,â but he absolutely says things like: âMy, my. You truly are far more competent than the rabble I must tolerate.â
He gives you privileges: Earlier access to new tech, private briefings, a considerably nicer room than standard soldiers, and the âhonorâ of standing close during strategy meetings.
No one bullies you or tries to undermine you, because the last person who tried ended up vaporized mid-sentence. Frieza claimed it was a coincidence. Everyone knew better.
When You Return From a Terrifying Mission
Youâre tweaking. Shaking, skin clammy, adrenaline crash. Youâve just scouted a planet where everything wanted to kill you: terrain, creatures, atmosphere, the works.
And hereâs Friezaâs version of âcomfortâ:
1. He immediately notices
He doesnât miss fear. He especially doesnât miss yours.
His tail twitches, eyes narrowing with interest, not mockery, not annoyance. Just⌠attention.
âYouâre trembling. I assume the mission was eventful.â
Heâs already trying to figure out whether your fear is a liability or a sign that you survived something worth exploiting.
2. He doesnât say âare you okay?â He demands a report
He gestures for you to follow him somewhere private, away from other soldiers (who he does NOT want witnessing your state).
His tone is calm, almost soft for him:
âExplain.â
He listens, like actually listens. No interruptions until youâre done. The more shaken you are, the quieter he becomes.
Deep inside, he feels something like pride. You faced terror and still came back.
3. The closest thing he gives to comfort is⌠control, of course
Frieza likes maintaining dominance, but with you, he also uses it to stabilize you.
He stands close.
His tail occasionally rests at your lower back or coils loosely around your ankle.
He gives you a drink and orders you to sit.
âYou will calm yourself. I require your mind unclouded.â
It sounds cold⌠But itâs the nicest way Frieza knows how to say âYouâre safe now.â
4. A terrifyingly gentle threat
If something harmed you, scared you, or even inconvenienced you?
Heâs already planning vengeance.
âTell me which creature dared distress you. Iâll see it eradicated.â
His voice is low, smooth, vicious, the kind of tone that means heâs already picturing the massacre.
5. A rare âpraiseâ moment
He wonât call you brave. He wonât tell you heâs relieved you survived.
But he will say:
âYou exceeded my expectations once again.â
For Frieza, thatâs practically a confession.
6. Aftercare, Frieza-style
Itâs not cuddles. Itâs not emotional validation.
Itâs:
granting you the day off (but saying it like a command),
forbidding anyone from bothering you,
personally overseeing your medical check,
sitting nearby while you rest, disguising the act as reviewing your data.
If you fall asleep near him after your adrenaline crash, he just⌠lets you. Maybe even adjusts his tail so you're leaning against it instead of the wall.
He pretends itâs because he needs you in top condition.
But when you relax around him, something in him softens, barely.
Now
There is affection, but itâs hidden under layers of ego and intimidation.
Your fear doesnât disgust him It fascinates him.
Your loyalty doesnât bore him It moves him in a way he refuses to name.
If Frieza ever had a favorite, someone heâd actually keep close rather than discardâŚ
Itâs you.
