This is my final image for the continuous light section of the places 2 brief. To create this image I used shutter speeds of 30 second which gave enough time to capture the lights from moving cars. However I had some issues trying to get light trails on all areas of the motorway, to deal with this I took multiple images with traffic on each of the areas and then combined them in photoshop to create one final image. I think that this worked well, however if I was to shoot again I would remember to take a longer lens which would have allowed me to experiment more with my compositions.

I used a sparkler to draw a flower along with the shutter speed of 10 seconds. It took me a few attempts to get my image near perfect. I also had my aperture set to f/18 as I did not want any other light to come in. As I’ve done similar things like this in the past, I did not find it hard. I found it interesting and fun to do and.

as part of this afternoons Places 2 class we were given a talk on Risk Assessment before doing a shoot.  the class was divided up into groups (this took 2-3 attempts lol) and were given a risk assessment to complete, each group was given a location; Group 3s location was Buchannan Street.  the risk assessment took into account the journey to Buchannan street from the college and being on location.  possible issues brought up were the risk of falling/slipping, public annoyance, lifting heavy equipment and busy traffic.

Although I used the shutter speed of 30 seconds, I did not manage to get enough light trails. Next time, I will try to manually expose my image or I will use a longer lens. Overall, I feel that I have gotten a strong enough final image.

For my third and final group shot I chose again to shoot against a brick wall. This time I feel the image turned out well however I feel I need to pay closer attention to my aperture as I found that Hannah at the front was slightly out of focus.

For the second of my two group shots I chose to continue with the theme of the last and shot against a brick wall. Unlike last time the light was brighter and I didn't require a flash. I feel that my final image works well, and stays true to my plan.

This is my final image for the painting with light brief as part of Places 2. To create this image I used a 30 second exposure and walked around the scene with a torch to light it. At first I used direct light on the face of the tomb stone, however eventually discovered that by shining the light from the side, this creates a more pleasant and interesting image. I feel that the overall result works quite well and accurately fulfils my original plan. If I was to do this again I would make sure I had an led panel as this would allow me to add a subtle light to the trees in the background.
