I HAD ONE OF THOSE! It was the Doodle Bear! You used markers on it and then put it in the washing machine. I think I had a denim one. They’re really helpful and I think pretty cheap on ebay.

Also if you take a stuffed cat and wrap it in muslin/fabric you could have a makeshift version. It’d be not completely anatomically correct because stuffed animals are all attempted cuter structure but it could work!

How anatomically correct do the blank animals have to be? All that’s coming to mind are those stuffed animals for collecting signatures.

Yes!! Those are both exactly along the lines what I was thinking of! And yeah, they might not be super accurate, but it would definitely work for the planes of the body...for the others, well, as long as the design wasn't too cartoony and I had room to get the gist of what I needed, it might work.
