A Pixel Font Resource
If you’re tired of drawing, copying, and pasting every letter of text in your pixel art, I found an awesome resource that lets you design and publish your own bitmapped fonts and download other peoples’ fonts for free.
Every font in the gallery is clearly labeled whether it’s public domain or attribution required.

I even published a couple fonts of my own! Search:
memeticsans: An impact-style font I made for my “chaotic advice kobold” stickers
abitlegible: A 3x4 micro-font I spent literal weeks making as legible as possible. I don’t think it’s possible to get more legible at this size
journeyglyphs: The “alphabet” from the game Journey. The symbols carry no meaning in the game itself, so don’t take this as a translator.
dnddraconic: The Draconic alphabet from Dungeons and Dragons
bauhaus31: Pixel version of Bauhaus93
artdeconewsprint: Small-ish font in the style of Art Deco posters
artdeconarrow: Same font as above; but with one leg thick, the other leg thin
batmantastitle: Art Deco font from Batman: The Animated Series
Calibr-8: Calibri at 8 point resolution, cleaned up.
(I’d include images of them but this post ended up being the wrong kind of post and I now I can’t put images side-by-side)
A couple things I’ve noticed:
- Fonts published to the gallery always have default vertical spacing settings. However, you can pretty easily download, import, and re-export the fonts yourself with the site’s editor if that’s an issue.
- You may have to adjust the font size to get the pixel ratio to line up correctly, especially with micro fonts.
This tools helps you scale pixel art to bigger sizes without filtering for game development, social media or personal uses.
If you do pixel art, low res art, or just really need to scale some photos without destroying their quality, this website is the shit.
I use this for making my art on @paintfroge a bigger size to put it on Redbubble without destroying the quality.
See, normally, when you try to scale up a small image in like, mspaint, or any paint program really, it will try to preserve the quality in its own special (stupid) way and it makes the work blurry. If your art is meant to be pixelated, that is a huge issue.
This website will scale your art for you to make it bigger but preserve the pixelated appearance. I assume it does so by taking each pixel and multiplying it into a bigger block. (e.g. If you have 1 red pixel, it will turn that 1 red pixel into a 2x2 red block, and do that for every single pixel in the image. Or, a 3x3 or 4x4 red block, depending on how big you’re scaling it. Either way, it keeps each pixel looking like a pixel, but bigger.
