Did Luca Marinelli's acting influence your music?
Luca is very Diabolik. Anyone who has seen the first Diabolik, that of Mario Bava, will find a totally different antihero. Our is a serious Diabolik, the Bava's one a sparkling one, even Ennio Morricone's music was, with the song "Deep Down", which we also wanted to insert as a tribute. In the scenes where Luca is present, we were rigorous, without strange flourishes, because his acting is very dry, determined, and so we too had to be determined and dry, even if we used a large orchestra, it can be done trumpeting or going on tiptoe and, when Luca was acting, we went on tiptoe. I think the final result is excellent. We are all very happy, and now we are working on the third and fourth* films. The first was so liked by the producers that they decided to go ahead. I can tell you that I'm already having fun like crazy...
