Life lessons from worldly current events come when you’re being still and observant. When I was coming up, the Cardi of my generation was Halle Berry. None of us understood how someone so beautiful and successful could be subjected to domestic violence and infidelity. Who could beat and cheat on a woman every man wanted? How? Why? Because. The how and the why have nothing to do with the victim... and everything with the person who’s subjecting the victim to these behaviors. Once you’re done and over with being a victim and decide to be a victor, you won’t any longer blame yourself. There are five stages of grief: denial (that didn’t just happen!), anger ( yo what the bloodclaaat!), bargaining (if i just _____, then they will _____. And that will fix everything. Please let me fix it.), depression (I feel like I’m having a heart attack. All I do is cry. I want to die.), and acceptance (My life can and will go on). Then... you heal.
