- Dread's world is accessed through a portal machine Tails made, powered by the Paradox Prism. The other few universes are accessible as well.

- Knuckles first decided to just visit them so he could try meeting someone knew; expand his horizons at most.

- Admittedly, upon first meeting Dread, the brute definitely found him weird. Off-putting, at most.

- On the other hand, the captain had found Knuckles to be quite the interesting one. A different version of himself that proved to be quite the capable teammate.. almost a dream come true.

- The two didn't really see themselves ever really getting into a relationship. They'd hang out whenever Knuckles bothered to visit, and occassionally Dread would stop by.

- But Dread fell first and Knuckles fell way harder, as it goes. The pirate loved his playfulness, and the islander loved his way of showing them the world.. or at least, what he considered to be most of it.

- Stargazing would be a typical activity within their hangout sessions, as often they'd stay up so late talking to each other.

- But it was Dread who confessed, right when Knuckles had found a heart-shaped rock that had made its way to one of the beaches they had stopped by, saying "Aye, that may be my heart, but it might as well be yours since it's only filled with thoughts of you, mate."

- Knuckles nearly had a heart attack from hearing that.

- But they'd eventually talk it out, Knuckles wanting to keep the relationship somewhat secretive and Dread not giving a care in the world as to who knew.

- Out of the two of them, the pirate is unsurprisingly the most affectionate. He likes to give Knuckles that one italian greeting every time they meet up.

- Knuckles expresses his love through words and actions, although he might not be good at either one at times. He can lash out and get angry at Dread, but nevertheless the two find ways to make up.
