Keeping off my main blog because it's not for that but really genuinely curious about the phrasing of 'usually' between the ages 5-6 that I see brought up a lot about DID? Looking into possible diagnosis myself but I wanted to get some clarification from others. I know medical language can be different from standard use, and was wondering if that Usually is included in that. And if it's a hard boundary id be really interested in how diagnosis works if a trauma is identified from say, ages 7 and above. Can it still be considered under DID or is it very strict and becomes something else?
I also wonder if this is a DSM exclusive thing and if the ICD has different language in regards to age boundaries! I would not be diagnosed using the DSM but it does still have a big impact on interpretation and medical opinion outside the US
