The for was getting more and more annoying as it went on, even if navigating the farm wasn’t the hardest thing there was. Madi was working on it long enough, she knew general directions and where she would need to go for what. Which was partly why it was so confusing when suddenly a chicken stumbled in front of Madi and she almost kicked into it. The damn fog.
Madi half stumbled, half jumped over the animal that started flapping its wings and running away in surprise only to stop a couple of feet away from her and turn back almost with a curiosity Madi. Probably didn’t understand the situation just as much as they did.
“Hello buddy, how did you get here? You shouldn’t be anywhere near here. What do you say we go and find your friends? Or find the animal pen? Somewhere more safe for you in all of this craziness.” She was inching closer to the bird while she spoke, and once close enough, she carefully picked it up like Piper showed her before and after making sure she was heading in the right direction, she headed towards the animal pen.
“Piper! PIPER! Are you anywhere around? I found a loose chicken! Is it the only one that got out or do we have to find more? Can you even hear me or am I yelling into the nothingness?”
