The sun was intense nowadays. Rowan could hear many humans complaining but he rather enjoyed the heat. It baked his scales and made his wings feel powerful. He could fly higher in the heat. His only wish was that he could grow bigger soon. As much as he enjoyed flying it was a lonely thing to be int e air by oneself. He hoped to grow large enough that his mother would be able to join him in the skies. As it was, he was just as large as she was, able to provide her good company and be a powerful guard, but not large enough to show her the wonders of the world from the air.
But all in good time. He was still young but he would be a large warrior once he was in his prime. Pleased at the thought, Rowan beat his wings until he was rising into the air and sought out his human mother. When he found her he entered a slow dive, landing lightly at her side so as not to throw her off her feet and presenting his head to her for affection.
