Jupiter is happiest when she’s playing with Skuntank. She doesn’t get to do it very often, and she’ll deny it if you ask her, but she loves playing with her partner. And then, when they’re done, Jupiter and Skuntank will spend the next hour or so cuddling. 

Blaine grinned and nodded. He was legit, it seemed.

((Will actually felt like he was the giver of abandonment both when he left home and when he decided it was best to cut ties with all of his travelling performer friends. He didn’t want to do it in either case, and it made the abandonment feel all the worse.))

He had to mull over Whitney’s wording for a moment regarding the Rattatas and shorts. “Well I don’t know exactly how old you are, but assuming you’re younger than me, what with your youthful energy and perkiness... Guys at your age are not gonna be really mature. You might get lucky and meet one or two... But without giving you the ‘Just wait until you’re older’ line, which I’m sure you’re sick’a hearing... best I can suggest is be patient and don’t take things too serious.”

Lysandre. He wouldn’t need to think twice there: Maxie’s goals might not match his own, but they don’t interfere either. The kingly Kalosian was too defensive, too self-righteous, and too much of a potential threat to not be the obvious choice. Maxie’s interest in Giovanni’s own favorite Pokémon type doesn’t hurt his case, either.

Blaine grinned and let out a chuckle, ruffling the girl’s hair. “Hah, yeah, and I’m naturally bald! Tell me another joke, child!” He rapped his cane against the ground, laughing yet again. “If you want a fight, you’ll get one!” He lightly tapped her arm, smirking. He was just daring her to, really.
