Super wolf moon tonight, view and petty spurge at Lakeside Country Park on my lunch time walk today and sky at Hill Head, Curlew at Hayling Island Oysterbeds and Greylag Goose at Lakeside yesterday.
I've had a brilliant start to the year getting my new bird year list underway with a great variety of species and some really special ones seen, taking in beautiful views and being surrounded by nature and enjoying seeing plants. Other highlights across yesterday and today between Lakeside, Hayling Island Oysterbeds, Hill Head and the Titchfield Canal included Firecrest, Kingfisher at Lakeside on my New Year's Day walk there to start my bird year list ten years on from the last time I saw one there on a New Year's Day which was special, Greenshank, Goldeneye, Grey Plover, Sanderling, Pintail, Buzzard, winter heliotrope, sweet violet, annual mercury and borage.
