Grand Pinnacle Iceberg, East Greenland. I stood on deck waiting, freezing as I saw this beef up ahead in the distance. Ship captains don't go out of their way to make an image possible for me. I must be diligent, patient and ready. I was using a Linhof 617 a metal camera unfriendly to use in the freezing temps of Northern East Greenland. The camera got only 4 exposures per roll@of film and I had to make them count. But as we got in range of the iceberg I ran out of film and my frozen fingers struggled to reload the camera. The captain saw me as he stood up on the bridge and took pity on me. He turned the ship to circle the berg giving me the necessary time to load the camera. I will be forever thankful to Captain Hansen for making this image possible.
