FR : Un jeu hell-core !
Ping Pong from Hell is a 2D side view game which mixes beat' em up and puzzle game. In this game you will embody Anatole, a table tennis player, a single and quick-tempered man of 34 years. However, he dies during the ping pong tournament finale of his village, by swallowing the ball sent too hardly by his rival and opponent. Anatole will then have to manage to go back up from hell to end and win this finale! Atypical but charming character, Anatole will make his way using his huge ping pong racket. A journey during which he will discover the dark story  of hell. The epic will not obviously be without danger and troops of devils will stand up to stop him. The concept of the game comes from the desire to add to a furious fighting game a certain reflection. Succeed so in creating a functional and pleasant playful dynamics. At least just as much as its inspirations. An infernal gameplay! To cross the levels, the player will skillfully have to observe the environment and destroy it by using the enemies as missiles. So the game will propose a dynamic and explosive experience like a classic beat' em up, while adding to it a notion of puzzle game. The observation of the scenes and the levels will be the essential progress point of the player. The puzzle mechanics will come to balance this merry festival of destruction. The gameplay mechanics stemming from this concept of game also allow to reveal two other interests of Ping Pong from Hell. The first one concerns the enemies, and the second the destructible aspect of scenes. In many games the enemies are simply considered as such and must be just overcome. Here, they serve as antagonists to be destroyed , but also as ammunitions for our hero. They play a double role that will lead the player to consider them differently that in another game. The destructive aspect of the scenes will not be only trivial or esthetic, here it will have a real sense and usage. It will be the pillar of player progression These two points will be the elements in which it will be necessary to be interested when discovering a new level. It will be necessary to observe and to experiment to find the enemies and the destructible elements of the scene which will allow to move forward. Flames and lava everywhere !! The graphic style, voluntarily cartoon comes to support the funny tone of the adventure. So, it is not surprising to see our hero cavorting proudly, a huge racket in the hand and sending flying by dozen of his opponents. The nonsense of the situation contrasts then with the landscape. Indeed, Anatole is placed in titanic environments, populated with hordes of enemies trying to slow down him in his ascent. The animations and scenes, very impressive are there to give to the player a real power feeling in order to give him / her the impression of being able to destroy everything without problems. Scenes will also have a very important narrative role because they will be soaked with history of places as well as with the social organization of Hell. However, the design choices do not make dramatic places but rather a parody of what we can observe in our everyday life. In a way this representation of hell of the everyday life mixes devils, waste, flames, works, sadness and industrial city, in order to call back the idea that Anatole has always been the eternal missed one, its hell it is its own everyday life. In fact, the game will aim to be light due to its graphic style but also its absurd representations of hell, devils and ping-pong.
