Your open-sourced internet wallet
Circle has been in the news a while, and is now available in Europe.

Although we're used messaging-style payment services (Pingit for example), Circle's system is built on BitCoin and therefore (essentially) open-sourced. Or at least open-walled.
E-wallets, internet payments, sms-IOUs are great. Simple, trackable and (mostly) secure. But the issue we have is one of platform adoption. There are just too many to choose from, and therefore the progression of digital payments is stalling. In the UK it feels only ApplePay is making some headway, and that's only because I’m always in Pret.Â
For me there are two potential companies that are poised to become the platform of choice - Apple (they have the device reach and complete control of their OS), and PayPal (they have the user database and trust). Either way a cash-free society is still some way off.
