pain shallowed her breaths as her fingers turned bone white gripping onto din. she tried not to look at her raw legs, even still tears streamed down her face. they weren't going to make it, they weren't going to make it. it all was just too much for lyali as she squeezed her eyes shut, her heart about to leap out her mouth.
din's grip tightened, and lyali felt him hold her closer, ducking over her body. they didn't quite make it, the force of the explosion razing over them, no. over din. lyali could feel the heat and impact around his edges, hear the sound cut past the helmet's modifiers. she waited, her breath heavy enough to modulate.
