Ik this is kinda a trivial thing to be upset about right now (and a pretty dumb thing to have as my first real post on this account), but I’ve had this on my mind for such a long time and i gotta get it out. does it bother anyone else that Uni randomly turns pink in cometcare?? It bothers me so much I genuinely hate it. And we know it’s not just a about her healing since cometcare Bec got to keep his purple eyes

Honestly barry constantly making advances onto polly when he’s clearly uncomfortable with it being portrayed as a “haha funny” joke and Polly’s discomfort not being taken seriously was just… really weird too. And the fact that nobody bothered to stop him (not even finn, who not only just stood by and watched while his best friend was harassed, but also ENCOURAGED barrys behavior by telling Polly to engage with barry by telling him her favorite color) was just. Eugh.

Isn’t it so funny that this characters boundaries keep getting broken? Isn’t it SOOO funny that they’re clearly uncomfortable but keep getting harassed anyway???? Isn’t it just fucking hilarious so funny right guys? Right? Right? /sarc

And don’t get me started on how cometcare (where barry and polly get married) was supposed to be the BEST POSSIBLE ENDING TO SPARKLECARE. Kitty legit went “oh yeah barry never gets ridiculed for clearly breaking Polly’s boundaries and also marries them in the future. Polly marries the guy who kept harassing him, this is the BEST possible outcome btw!!!🩷🌈🌈🩷🌈🌈🌈”

I hate how it also portrays barry as a bumbling idiot who can’t take a hint. Polly is CLEARLY uncomfortable in that image, even grabbing barrys wrists to try and get his hands off them, and barry just keeps clinging on like a moron with no sense of boundaries. What happened to barry not liking touching people due to germ issues? What happened to barry being SMART??? And no you can’t use “but he’s autistic he can’t understand social cues!!!” as an excuse because even people who struggle with social cues would be able to take a hint when the person they keep grabbing onto keeps trying to push them off and making “eugh” faces at them.

Pollarry is (in my opinion) the worst fucking ship on spinch. It stems solely from barrys inability to take a fucking hint and leave polly alone when he’s clearly uncomfortable

on top of what everyone else brought up, i think it’s massively fucked up that another symptom of TUC is extreme lethargy and fatigue that makes it harder for polly to defend themself. if you can barely stay awake all day bc of your condition, and someone keeps grabbing at you and no one around you thinks that’s wrong, you probably Are going to say ‘i give up’ and keep fighting against the fatigue you were already dealing with.

the appeal of polly is probably supposed to be someone with a really understated personality being fawned over = funny dissonance, but like. they actively protest being seen that way, it’s just that no one cares and seems to genuinely think ‘she’s cold’ is a an infallible explanation for everything that happens to them?

not to mention that because the temperature of her body, which includes her hands, is the appeal for people… even when he DOES devote some of his energy into pushing back, it’s just taken as an opportunity to fawn over making contact with his hands??
