When pill millipedes (pillipedes) mate the male sings a little song to get the female to uncurl. (Their response to most things is to curl up. ) The sounds are called stridulations made by rubbing parts of the exoskeleton together. "cricricricricri"
Pill millipedes are large short millipedes that can curl up. They are different from "potato bugs" (isopods.) Isopods, like the kind we have in our back yards in North America are crustaceans. Pill millipedes are, well, millipedes, and related to long millipedes and centipedes.

So, until they can be captive bred do not consider buying one so they can stay abundant and diverse in the wild.
