I'm new-ish to the fandom and have been binging your meta and most recently, your fic Crossing Caïna, which is just incredibly beautiful. You are an amazing writer! Anyways, I wanted to ask, do you think Hannibal was present in court during Will's testimony? If so, wouldn't that mean Hannibal and Will had seen each other more recently than in three years, considering how slowly trials happen? I would love to read your transcript of the trial!
Yeah, of course he was present in court, or he wouldn’t know what Will’s aftershave smelled like. Also, I believe that’s a legal right of a defendant. So yeah, technically they would have seen each other for a brief day or couple days once in all those years. I haven’t looked back, but it seems to me that in the book, that had happened one year after the gutting. So a year after Hannibal’s arrest on the show seems realistic to me.
I may someday finish that fic! But I’m still not done with testimony from just season 1 at this point, so don’t get too excited. XD
