UNFOLDING
And so it’s fall again
Winter is coming fast
But solstice has resided in me
Ever since you left.
I never saw the spring
The winter slipped away
Now the leaves are gold again
And I’m stuck here in this fray.
I’m trying to touch the sun
I’m trying to heal my heart
But every time I reach to far,
I simply fall apart.
There was no grandiose goodbye
No echo of angels singing
You left without a word or sound,
And I can’t stop this reeling.
So I’ll keep reaching for the sun
I promise you I’ll fight.
I know if I but open my eyes
God will give me light.
My arms are open to the sky
The unfolding has begun
I will give most everything
Until my battles won.
So send in angels flying
To give my soul a rest
Carry me upon their wings
Their silken threads my nest.
Until at last! I feel the sun
Warm and soft upon my face
And I can set forth from there
Full of benevolence…
Full of Grace.
