California was...not as Lestat had expected it. His mind had been filled with images of Old Hollywood, the greats of his time. It was vibrant and alive and filled with tourists and locals alike, though if you looked closer it was also dirty and crowded and there were a great deal of people who had taken to the streets to call them home, even as in the big, colorful cities, they tried to pretend they did not exist. Sure, New Orleans had it's own transient population, but this somehow felt different. How many people had come here to chase a new life, only to be left with nothing? The American Dream or something. Luckily, he hadn't stayed in Los Angeles for very long. He'd travelled farther along the coast until he could hear the vampires very clearly.
He could almost feel them, in the number they congregated in. More than a few, in fact. That was exactly what he was looking for - the coven. There had been vampires in LA, of course, but they weren't the ones he was seeking. So, he found himself back at the edge of the water, wandering down the boardwalk. The sun had recently set, and he was almost sure he could still feel it, if he stood there long enough. Upon not bursting into flame, however, he continued his travels. Food vendors, more tourists, games with prizes, people selling their wares and, interestingly enough, a fortune telling booth. It didn't look the way he envisioned it might, both simple and without gaudy decor, but there was something interesting about it. The person behind, the one running the stall, was a vampire.
And she was one of the many voices he'd heard that had lured him from New Orleans to this place. Interesting. He hadn't been inclined to give up searching but finding her among the others renewed his hope of finding them at all. "Hello," he purred, as he approached, sapphire eyes glinting against the backdrop of long pale hair and even more pale skin. He came to stop before her and tilted his head, curious. "Star, is it?" Likely not her given name, but the one he plucked from he various conversations he had been eaves dropping on.
