Pick of the week 42 - Relay.FM shows
Iâve been on Twitter so much over the past week that it almost felt incomplete had I not picked something related to Twitter. But since Tweetbot iOS was already last weekâs pick, I couldnât possibly do it again for its Mac cousin this week. So I picked something faintly related.
Relay.fm launched a couple of months back. Just before its launch, there was a period of about two weeks of emptiness after I lost all the CMD+SPACE & The Prompt shows in my podcast feeds. Waiting week long for just one show ATP felt way âparchedâ.Â
This past week has been especially good. In my chronological listening order:
Upgrade Episode 5 with Jason Snell
They talked about Macworld ending the annual Macworld/iWorld event in January.Â
It was a little strange to hear Jason talk about Macworld and IDG from a third partyâs perspective.
Then Myke boasted (both during the podcast and on Twitter) about having a co-member of his Relay network actually being invited to the Apple event on 16 Oct.
Analog(ue) Episode 9 with Casey Liss
This has to go down as the best Analog(ue) episode for me so far.Â
Myke talked about his resignation from his J-O-B job. Hugely emotional and perfectly fitting of the show theme.
At some points during the show, it got me thinking if I should pursue my âdreamâ in place of my stable well-paying J-O-B.Â
Connected Episode 9 with the gang
This show has always been good since its The Prompt days.
This week Federico was lamenting how much he hates sending his faulty Macbook Air for repairs, besides just spending the money. He hates going to the store, hates the call heâs going to get telling him that his Macbook is ready, hates interacting with people. Even he himself said heâs weird.
At the end of it, Myke convinced him that what he needs is the upgraded Mac Mini. And Fedrico agreed!
At the point of recording, it was still before the Apple event, so they didnât know the Mac Mini would indeed get upgraded. But it was a pretty certain prediction everyone (including myself) had.
I think it was after I just finished the episode of Upgrade that I tweeted to Myke. And he actually responded. It was nice to get an occasional reply from these famous people I follow on Twitter.
But from the bottom of my heart, I have truly enjoyed and am constantly looking forward to more shows of Upgrade, Analog(ue) and Connected.
