Happy endings are for stories that haven't finished yet...
A good book supposedly is one which answers all your questions before the book has finished. Evidently one of my favourite authors is proving this long given advice wrong. She spews out amazing stories for which none of them have sequels to tell me what happened after I finished reading the book. In many ways it seems depressing, I don't know if they divorced, if their son's alive... But something in me has stopped caring. My imagination gets to make up the fate of these said characters. The book ends how I want it to end. In many ways this makes up for a lot of disappointment in endings in other books I've read. Many times I've wondered whether it would have been better if the author should have finished a few chapters or pages earlier.
I watched a film the other day and I realised the main reason I was disappointed in the ending was that it didn't tell me whether or not what the main character did in the end saved the many lives of the people who he was trying to save. But it follows the same lines, doesn't it? Either that or both the film and my favourite author is opening it up for sequels when all is lost and they want more money.
I'd like to think things end happily... But when do they ever? This is what truly ruins the end of a good book.
Things While Over-Tired and on Pain-Killers
I have the most awkward walk today. Well, it's more of a limp. Well, it's more of a waddle. My hip is sore and I'm trying to save it. I crack myself up when I walk past a mirror. Thought that may also be my bed hair (I know it's 9AM, don't judge me).
I HAVE A MOVIE DATE WITH MY BEST FRIEND (non-related) TOMORROW! Which I assume is at the usual time.
I am not going to church today because it's too sore.
I finished reading Jodi Piccoult's Handle With Care. And can I just say, THAT WAS A WRETCHED ENDING. I know it's been out for a while but I don't want to ruin it for those who have not read it and plan to. So if you have read it, let me know so I can talk about it. Because I love talking about books.
I am currently reading Douglas Adams' The Long Dark Tea-Time of the Soul. And while I am 5 chapters in I am thoroughly enjoying it.
I have the best sister ever. Seriously. She's amazing and smart and funny and sweet and honest and she loves God and yeah. I'm really thankful for our relationship and I just wanted to put that out there to make you all jealous because there's no way you're sibling is as cool as mine.
