NO FANCY OIL PAINTS? NO WORRIES!

One of the things Dramatic Need is constantly struggling with when working in South Africa and Rwanda is a lack of supplies and decent equipment. Last year at the Piet Patsa arts centre taught a very small class in oil painting for only a select number of students as oil paints are so expensive to buy. Often our students are limited to only pens and pencils with which to make art. So we were very encouraged when we saw that Parisian artist Sarah Esteje, (who's currently studying at the Gobelins School of the Image), used only a basic 'Bic' ball point pen to create a collection of highly detailed, ultra-realistic illustrations, proving that even the most ordinary tools can create extraordinary art.
