"Well I think you're just going easy on me." Adrianna teasingly leaned forward and stuck out her tongue. Her vines and leaves twitched and trilled as if they were laughing at the Earth Portal Master.
His rock veered left again, joining the small pile of stones beneath some scrapes on the far wall as he missed the red and white ringed target completely. "Why would you think that?" He blew her a raspberry and wound up his arm again.
George's form put more focus on force than accuracy. Normally, he could at least hit the target, but the worst chill kept running down his spine. He wanted to break it, he wanted to send a rock right through that thing until this damned feeling went away for good. Now, if he could just hit the thing. His lips turned to a sneer as his legs slipped apart, his torso twisted, his throwing arm went back, and he threw the next rock with a speed that left an orange tail as it veered right past its mark. George grinded his teeth and exhaled with a hiss. Adrianna took a step back and leaned away as he took a small lap around their throwing line and wiped some sweat from his brow. It wasn't even a hot day, plus the breeze was frigid from the top of Cat's Eye Mountain.
Her position shifted with an arm hugging herself. Her thinner, more mobile vines similarly wrapped over her chest and back. "No reason..." She squeaked and averted her pale green eyes.
Regret instantly weighed down his stomach. "I-I'm sorry, I just-" George ran his hands through his bright blonde hair. There wasn't really an end to the list of reasons to be a little off, or just want to crash on someone's couch for this world's and Earth's longest nap, but the something had been more off since the purple dragon hijacked their off-time to create a portal to the middle of nowhere. "Something's gonna happen. I don't know what, but something's wrong."
