Our group was able to: demonstrate that the relationship between the applied force and the displacement of a spring is directly proportional (proving the formula F = kx). calculate the spring force of a rubber band which came out to approx. 45.13 N/m by measuring the force, stretched position, and displacement of the bands. gather data from different rubber band arrangements and find the realtionships between the number of bands, the spring constant, and the average spring constant of each arrangement. for a series: 1/keq = 1/k1 + 1/k2 for parallel: keq = k1 + k2
