Just how much of my learning ability has been affected by my depression? Sometimes I truly feel stupid and slow in class with other people because I don’t get things as quickly or I need a slower and second explanation. But I know a good part of it is because I’ve been dealing with it for over a decade (which I kinda can’t believe) now, so little by little, I'm trying to do my best even though I feel kinda embarrassed by it because I know it’s not true, it’s just that I’m dealing with a different set of circumstances than some people. Yeah.
Why is it when we say what "weight" something is we always reply in, g, kg, oz etc even though weight is specifically measured in newtons?
"Steam Lantern" thoughts
This has bugged me since I first saw the episode and wanted to know if anyone else was thinking about this.
When Hal brings that planet into our universe, what kind of damage did it do not only to the universe it was taken from but to the system it was brought into? I'm not even going to try to think about the temporal effects because my knowledge of quantum physics is rather limited, but think about it: an entire planet was brought into a universe where there was no place for it on the galactic map. What star is it orbiting now? What pre-existing orbit did it interrupt in order to be here? Not to mention that it is now in a universe with the Anti-Monitor, which they had just gotten rid of from their own universe. That's like spitting a bad taste out of your mouth, but you spit into the wind so your loogey just came back and hit you in the face.
In other words: Hal, you done screwed up, buddy. Thanks for throwing the balance of the universe completely off-kilter.
The phrase "not everything is about you" is really misleading. When you think about it, nothing is really about you.
