2 semesters of didactic down, 2 to go. It is so unbelievable how quickly this semester went.
It was certainly a challenge, but as the weeks went by, I fell more and more like I found my groove. We ended with heme/onc, and (as one of the most challenging units), it was my best effort of the year. It took me some time (as they told me it would, since I’m a nontraditional *aka old* student), but I think I finally figured out how to be successful at this whole thing.
We have a 31 one day break (WHHHAT), so I am staying in OH for a few more days (cleaning, packing, getting my life together because the last week or so was a disaster in terms of keeping the house tidied up), and dog walking before heading home. I’ll be home for about 3 weeks before heading back this way for a week to relax before the semester starts.
I’m already thinking about the things I’ll miss here, and that’s a really good feeling, since it took a particularly long time for this area to feel like home. Most specifically, I’ll miss the boxing gym. I continue to go 5-7 times/week (I KNOW! who am I?!) and it just feels such like home, I can’t get over it.
Just wanted to take a moment or two to reflect on how fortunate I am feeling these days, and how time really is flying. It’ll be white coat before we know it!
