₩ our muses are caught in a thunder storm together
//Well then. This is bound to be interesting.
No one had anticipated the storm blowing in so quickly. All day long the skies had been a bright, pristine blue that one could only see in the autumn, with hardly a trace of clouds in the sky. All it all it had seemed like beautiful fall weather. Of course, that was for most everyone else, who had already left school at the end of the day at the normal time. But working on a project in the library for as long as they were allowed, Valerie and Danny had been held up for an additional hour or so.
Apparently that was all the time that was needed, as the wind started picking up about the time they started putting books away. The perfectly clear sky was now dark and overcast, making it seem much later than it had been. And by the time they made it to the front doors of the school, the sky had opened up, a torrent of rain falling in sheets, obscuring their view, and forcing them to wait until it let up at least a little.
But that wasn’t even the worst of it. In the distance, the cracking of thunder could be heard, and as it grew closer, Valerie could feel the pull of the storm, begging for her to come and play. But she was fighting it off. Danny would think her insane to go out in this weather, particularly if he knew just what effect these kinds of storms had on her. So instead she stood there, fidgeting, staring almost raptly into the storm, not even realizing it when Danny started to speak to her.
