Dwelling deep under the waves, the aquatic plant life of Cyule gained sentience over the years, eventually rising from the depths to take on the appearances of terrestrial flora. These flowery fish, while not philosophers or inventors like their fellow Cyulans, are insightful and empathetic as a society, focusing their energy on the well being of their loved ones. They form close-knit social circles with their most cherished friends, though to outsiders, they appear stoic and even stingy, as well as distrustful of others. Photolures have relatively weak immune systems, having spent their lives far from other creatures. Because of their low numbers and reluctance to start families, their population's genetic variety is relatively low compared to other species on their homeworld. This allowed for the epidemic to quickly overtake their population, wiping out over half of all Photolures and creating the dastardly Phobin hybrid species. Most of the current Phobins resemble a mix of Photolure and Nimbunny, due to their roots on Cyule and their new targets on Starmitum. As their pathogenic nemesis has departed to focus on other worlds, the Photolures have steadily increased in number and variety, becoming a stronger species as a result.
