          “  the  people  in  this  school  think  i’m  a  monster,  don’t  they?  ”  raven  avoids  his  gaze,  instead  opting  to  fidget  with  her  hands  in  her  lap.  universe  jumping  wasn’t  exactly  a  common  occurrence  as  it  was,  but  looking  identical  to  someone  in  this  new  world?  it  made  things  a  lot  trickier.  “  i  know  it’s  strange  and  weird  ---  i  don’t  know  why  i’m  here  either,  but  i’m  not  going  to  hurt  anyone.  ”

                “  you  can’t  keep  doing  this  to  yourself.  ”  normally  lizzie  would  be  the  first  to  jump  on  the  bandwagon  to  make  fun  of  landon,  but  recent  weeks had  only  proved  that  this  wasn’t  a  time  to  deepen  already  painful  wounds  ---  but  to  try  and  heal.  she  offers  a  small  smile,  reaching  out  to  squeeze  his  hand.  “  we’ll  find  a  way,  i  promise.  ”

            lizzie’s  mouth  opens  at  first,  disbelief  evident  in  blue  eyes  as  she  lets  arms  cross  defensively  over  her  chest.  great,  now  a  hobbit  believed  that  she  was  trying  to  impress  him.  out  of  all  the  people  in  the  world,  landon  kirby  was  at  the  bottom  of  her  list.  well,  that’s  what  the  blonde  preferred  to  let  herself  believe.  “  did  you  really  just  say  that  out  loud?  ”  her  nose  scrunches  up  in  a  dramatic  over-exaggeration  of  disgust,  hand  moving  to  point  a  finger  at  his  chest.  “  you  are  the  last  person  i  would  ever  try  to  impress.  i  mean,  this  is  a  joke,  right?  ”

           for  the  first  time  in  lizzie  saltzman’s  experience  with  landon  kirby  so  far,  he  had  effectively  rendered  her  speechless.  she  wasn’t  used  to  having  these  sorts  of  interactions  with  him  ---  their  relationship  was  more  of  a  friendly  banter  type,  one  filled  with  quips  and  silly  comebacks.  this  was  a  heavier  topic,  one  which  she  would  tread  carefully  with  him.  it  was  obvious  to  anyone  how  badly  he  was  hurting,  and  as  much  of  a  bitch  she  could  be  to  the  phoenix,  lizzie  didn’t  want  to  see  him  like  that.  “  hey. . .  ”  she  begins  softly,  reaching  out  to  place  a  comforting  hand  on  his  arm.  “  you  know  hope  isn’t  acting  like  herself  right  now,  the  humanity  switch  is  a  huge  deal  to  vampires.  i  know  it’s  hard,  i  miss  her  too,  but  we’ll  get  her  back.  even  if  it  kills  us.  ”

*cracks knuckles* evie i love you so much that it should be!!! impossible!!!! to love someone that much. you have this huge talent that is showcased upon every single character you throw your love into. you just have this ability to grasp the essence of a character and truly breathe some life into them, you put your own stamp on them in the most unique and fruitful way. anyone can tell the amount of love and care you have in your writing and i can only aspire to be on that level!! i love talking to you about our muses, catching up every now and then, plotting and worldbuilding. i feel like my dash wouldn't be the same without you on it. i love you!

            “  i  never  thought  i’d  see  you  again.  ”  it’s  a  simple  admission,  crystal  orbs  widening  as  they  take  in  his  appearance.  how  long  had  it  been  ---  a  few  weeks,  months?  ever  since  turning  into  a  vampire,  lizzie  had  found  it  hard  to  read  the  passage  of  time.  things  were  hectic  to  say  the  very  least.  still,  it  was  nice  to  know  that  landon  hadn’t  truly  been  killed  by  hope.  the  blonde  takes  a  step  forward  to  wrap  her  arms  around  him  in  a  small  hug.  “  i  thought  you  were  dead  dead.  not  to  say  that  i  missed  you  or  anything,  but  i’m  glad  you’re  still  kicking.  ”

               the  words  cut  deeper  than  she  would  like  to  allow,  her  jaw  set  as  she  stands  straight  to  look  him  in  the  eye.  “  do  you  ....  do  you  really  mean  that  ?  ”  nothing  had  been  easy  for  them.  since  the  first  day  they  met,  it  seemed  they  were  doomed  to  a  cycle  of  losing  one  another  &  reuniting  only  for  it  to  end  in  heartbreak.  a  part  of  her  wants  to  accept  his  choice,  that  perhaps  moving  on  could  be  an  option  ---  however,  her  selfish  side  also  can’t  bear  to  watch  him  walk  away.   “  because  ...  after  losing  you  for  so  long,  for  even  the  smallest  moments  where  we  could  be  together,  where  it  was  epic  and  perfect....  i  would  do  anything  to  keep  that.  please,  i  -  i  don’t  want  you  to  leave.  not  like  this.  landon,  please.  ”   /   @phoenixmade​.
