â Next stop, Shibuya Station.
Perhaps Akira was a bit selfish in choosing the Tokyo Plaza in Shibuya for their belated Christmas shopping. Given the overflow of traffic in the stations due to the holiday season, he figured he had a right to be. After all, it was Goro who decided to broach the subject of needing assistance in shopping for the others just a week before the big day. Akira had already done his shopping; having gotten the groupâs gifts, Goroâs included, months prior.
It wasnât all Goroâs fault, of course. He was new to experience true friendship, to being around people who wanted to be around the real him, flaws and all. It was a bit strange, still, having Goro beside them. Watching as he tried to acclimate to being around people sincerely, without the fake smile he used to plaster on his face akin to a mask. On more than one occasion, usually during group gatherings, Akira caught glimpses of Goro slippingâstill relying on the pleasant persona he used as a crutch for so long.
He was making progress, however; and Akira was going to support him as much as Goro would allow. If that meant dragging himself through the crowded train stations and bustling streets of Shibuya during the holiday season, so be it.Â
Heâd be sure to pester his friend accordingly for it, as he would with Ryuji or Yusuke, if either of the two tore Akira out of the warmth of the CafĂŠ to go last minute shopping.
Heâd never pester the girls; he knew better.
Stepping from the crowded station into the just as crowded and busy streets of Shibuya, Akira dug his phone from his jacket pocket to send a quick message to Goro.
       â  ă akechup ă
ă  making my way to the plaza now (âťâľ âť) ă
ă you better not be late _ÂŹ ă
After hitting send, he placed his phone back into the safety of his pocket before tugging on the scarf around his neck, a gift from Sojiro, and pulling it up over his nose to keep it safe from the icy December air.
Perhaps heâd make Goro buy him a coffee, a half smile formed behind his scarf, for his troubles.
