Namor and Jim have their first throwdown. This is an important one because it was one of the very first ever "crossover" comic books (Wikipedia says one other story beat them to the punch by a single month.) Also we get to see Betty Dean in action as well.
Not all "Marvels" were accepted, celebrated... and even Phil can get swept up in a mob action, throwing a rock at Iceman. Also, that panel of the X-Men aglow from Cyclops' visor is easily my favorite work of art from this series...
Also, that nod to Jan's fashion career in the store window is a nice touch.

The next super her to slip into the public consciousness is Namor... and also these little side stories all line up with some of the classic first appearances of the characters as well in the golden age books.
Phil is a reporter, and a damn good one at that... and he often winds up being in the right place at the right time, and see we get to see the unveiling of the Human Torch from the other side... and all the fear on the crowd as the watching the flaming man in the tube start to move.
However, before Gwen can get the journals to Phil... well... you know where this is going...
