“You have to love yourself before you can even begin to love someone else wholeheartedly.”
—the reason i’m broken now
I’ve never seen a connection that deep before. I would say that I want that, but in truth, I’m absolutely terrified of that.

learning how to be loved...
"Philophobia is defined as the abnormal, persistent and unwarranted fear of falling in love. A restless feeling of being betrayed in love pricks you and unrests your mind. You do not feel emotionally secured in life. This eventually affects the quality of life and pushes you away from any sort of commitment."
Well, im in no rush to be in a relationship and the thought of it frightens me. i guess i see my parents relationship and im afraid of a repeat. im afraid of failure. recently, this issue of relationships have come up between some of my friends and ive really been thinking about it lately. its not okay to be philaphobic... its not okay to fear love. its not okay to always have a guard up in self defense of hypothetical situations in which you imagine you can get hurt. its not okay to look at a relationship that might have failed in the past and considered it a reality of all relationships to come. ive slowly come to realize this and i think its about time i allow myself to be loved, i need to be vulnerable and open to others. i cannot be closed anymore. as they say, in order to receive love, you have to give it. i know im ready to give out love... i hope im ready to receive it....
