Hi again! Here's a full color drawing of my interpretation of Philander, worked pretty hard on it, do you like it?
I worked with his first description and how I see him. The robe is newer though, and I made it super flowy because it's a bit windy and he's on a hill, (because he was unintentionally leaning too much before, but it worked out when I moved him!) One of the aspects I liked to draw was his wings. The scars might be more visible than they are described (though he has new ones, correct?), but anyways some of the darker feathers in this drawings are meant to indicate how wounds that have healed or where past ones have been. I like details :)
Me, attempting to be subtle with hints that I was planning to draw Philander:
The word “blitzkrieg” in my last comment meaning “lightning war”. Also, a swift victory, which this was not swift lol. But I did have fun drawing the lightning flowing through his shield!
Philander's an intriguing character (I didn't bring up that conversation again to not spoil it completely, but the interest and likelihood might have been a hint ^^)
The date. February 14th is Valentine's Day!
Who better for this day than a character with a name like “Philander”?
I also promised headcanons too, so here are some headcanons!
-At one point I wondered if Philander had a last name. I'm assuming he doesn't need one for the story, but thinking about that for fun, I found one, Lockhart. Scottish: of uncertain origin, probably from a Germanic personal name composed of the elements loc 'lock', 'bolt' + hard 'hardy', 'brave', 'strong'. English: occupational name for a herdsman in charge of a sheep or cattlefold, from Old English loc 'enclosure', 'fold' + hierde 'herd(er)'. So thinking symbolically to some of his characteristics and somewhat metaphorically if I were to compare a follower to a “sheep” and a “herdsman” to an angel or leader, it works perfectly for me. So that's what I call him in my mind sometimes; Philander Lockhart. :)
-I actually had this one before I noticed you had a playlist, which definitely made it feel a lot more relevant. There was this song I like that I feel like could apply to when Philander and his followers fought against Zelophehad's army:
(The lyrics are in a link in the description of the actual video, where the song can also be played a few times at the same time as reading if needed :)
Here's one kinda related to Valentine's Day:
Explanation: Zelophehad attempts to fake flirt with Philander and completely fails.
I ran into this vine and thought the idea was funny so i'm putting it here :P
So here is the third gift! This one took A LOT of work and the likelihood I make another one in the future is high, but for now i'm gonna let my determination for this cool off for this, even though this has been really fun. I'll be readying for a type of science tournament, i'm hoping I win a medal! Whoop!
I hope you're having a great Valentine's Day! <3
