I need to chew on something because omg Mr Kill EP1 right after that bs WC match healed something in my soul
Firstly, I'm so happy about Tee's performance! Like he didn't lie when he said Phat is very different from Tee down to the speech and behavior pattern. Like I was nervous alongside him to see how his performance would come across, and I LOVED IT! And while I know Dew is an experienced actor, this will be the first work of his I'm watching: I'm so impressed and hooked. Dude delivered hard on Kaye's character and it was fun watching this man fumble through existence.
Alright, onto the characters:
Y'all, I get what you mean about bromance being gayer than actual BL --HOW ELSE DO YOU WANT ME TO INTERPRET THAT GLANCE BACK SEQUENCE IN POST CRED OMFG.
And that post credit will be my steam roller for all the more subtle stuff I noticed:
Kaye, the man who fears social interaction and doesn't like fan meetings, goes out of his way to sign Phat's jacket when he knows he'll get in trouble with his editor if he finds out;
Phat, despite not being a manga fan and genuinely finds the whole things stupid considering the exorbitant price in this economy, not even being mad his jacket (which is probably one of his already minimal collection given he doesn't wear a jacket for the rest of the episode and in the EP2 teaser, we see him wear the same jacket as he wore while investigating the first murder) got ruined;
PHAT RANDOMLY SAYING THE NEXT TIME HE MEETS KAYE THAT "dw about it, I'd do that again if I get to see you smile like that again" LIKE SIR YOU MET THAT MAN A GRAND TOTAL OF TWO TIMES WTFDYM--
Kaye's smile while clicking that photo with Phat was so wide one would wonder if Dew was just being himself for that scene.
Before you call me crazy, I showed the post credit scene and number 3 to my sister --a heterosexual individual who doesn't even watch BL-- AND SHE STARED AT DISBELIEF WHEN I SAID THEY AREN'T GONNA END UP TOGETHER AS BOYFRIENDS, BUT AS BESTIES.
I'm excited for Than's role as a nosy journalist that will most likely slander the investigation, it's lead investigator Phat, or --most likely, based the trailer-- Kaye. I'm also guessing 'Than's Insight' is less of a formal news channel and more of an insider's talk show, because Praew got her internship due to her giving him the info about Nekros and the murders being connected.
I also LOVED Phat and Praew as siblings. I'd die happily if I get to watch sibling dynamics in a show, and this one delivered so well! Reminded me of annoying my sister about the QLs I'm watching because, besides this hellsite, I need to rant about it to someone before I go insane, and she's right there with my cat.
Story-wise there's not much to comment, but I'm getting hyped up about seeing exactly how they'd work Kaye out of the suspicion of being the murderer. As a viewer, I know the clues are too obvious for it to be him, but from Phat's POV, the evidence is so damning.
Also, I'm gonna keep my trust in GMMTV that they will deliver because this isn't their first rodeo with dark series like this. Most importantly, please please PLEASE don't make it about Kaye having an alter ego or a very weird sleep walking tendency. Twins... I can accept. Very reluctantly.
I shall now go insane on Instagram and hop between the three dewtee accounts that have been frothing in the mouth for new scenes to make edits with.
