Fluconazole is used to treat a ton of bacterial infections and we were trying to fill this one guy's prescription for it but the doctor indicated it was for vaginitis.
The pharmacist and the other techs were sooo confused by the indication because for everything they knew that specific patient was AMAB so they couldn't understand why it would say vaginitis.
We have quite a few trans patients that we know because we teach each other what to call them but this patient wasn't on that "list."
We tried calling the doctor for clarification just in case and the patient but it was a weekend so no one returned our calls.
Anyways the mom comes in and tells us it's for ringworm and confirmed the doctor messed up the prescription indication. Like we were getting worked up over nothing and so worried we messed up with that patient when it was just good ole doctor mess up
