Educational Field Visit – Learning Beyond the Classroom!
The School of Pharmaceutical Sciences, SDGI Global University, Ghaziabad, successfully organized an educational field visit for D.Pharm students to the Water Purification Plant at Uttar Pradesh Jal Nigam, Pratap Vihar, on 7th April 2026. This visit aimed to bridge the gap between theoretical knowledge and practical application in the areas of water purification, public health, and environmental sustainability.
Students gained first-hand exposure to various stages of water treatment, including coagulation, flocculation, sedimentation, filtration, and disinfection. They observed how raw water is transformed into safe drinking water using modern techniques and chemicals like alum and chlorine. The session was led by Mr. Tanveer, Junior Engineer, whose detailed explanations made complex processes easy to understand.
Ms. Neha Rawat and Ms. Nishu Gautam accompanied the students throughout the visit, ensuring smooth coordination and active participation.
The visit, conducted under the guidance of Prof. (Dr.) Shalini Sharma, Director, SPS, emphasized experiential learning and encouraged students to actively interact, ask questions, and develop a deeper understanding of real-world systems.
Supported by the university’s esteemed leadership, this initiative reflects the institution’s commitment to quality education and skill-based learning. Overall, the visit was an enriching and memorable experience that enhanced students’ practical knowledge, critical thinking, and professional awareness.
