One thing I’ve discovered in the last few months is an analysis youtube channel that ended up becoming a lot more important than I first thought it would be. 

I’ve been fascinated by ARGs, on-going web series, other dark things, and the work that goes into creating them. A channel like Night Mind just fed into that fascination in just the right way.

Even if I just got into it sort of recently, I have to thank @nick-nocturn for creating something that has so much passion, insight, and ended up inspiring me. Also for reminding me that I do need to sleep...

During my tumblr break, I ended up making more stuff for the Otherside OCT. This is the latest, and I think I did a good time with the time we were given. I might end up making an animatic for this in the future, but for now, it’s an experiment in voice acting  A huge thank you to PsychedAngsty for some additional help!

Sometimes you just have to draw Silent Hill monsters for a hypothetical fan game you might not be able to actually make. Also it’s loosely based off of Catscratch, so that’s another bit of nostalgia of mine I’m twisting up into tiny pieces.

Vanitas: Tends to follow and stalk, will only attack if you approach it, or get in its way. Light catches off of it and scatters it across the room aimlessly. Each shard contains a free-roaming eye. You get the feeling that it’s constantly judging you.

Leech: As the name suggests, it is clingy. Can and will grab and drain you with its multiple arms. Pathetically pulls itself across the floor because it has no real legs. The eyes act as headlights in a way.

Lamer: It’s mismatched, multiple heads are sowed haphazardly across it’s massive, malformed body. It lumbers around, searching... seeking prey. I’d say it’s a miracle it’s still alive, but it seems more hellish in temperament.

I’ve been playing around with a “serial killer” type character lately, and he’s been disturbingly fun to draw. (And hooboy, does it ever bring up memories from the 11th grade...) I decided to name him Zebedee for now, and he’s a short order cook/ aspiring experimental chef/ unashamed mankiller. Like a white-trash Hannibal Lector, if you think about it. Since he’s sort of inspired by psshaw‘s work, I decided to compare him to Alan Czar. Unfortunately, he didn’t really get pass the translation process that well.

Even if my grip on anatomy is more noodle than grip, at least I can draw goofy expressions well.
