Ok so this has probably? been thought of before. But imagine a medieval AU where Dia is royalty and Bortz is Dia’s personal knight. Dia wants to be active in defending the people but Bortz, serving to keep Dia safe at all costs, doesn’t allow it. Bonus: Phos is a squire to another knight, Antarc, and grows battle-hardened after a devastating loss and graduation to knighthood.

Oh yeah, I think one of my asks might have been swallowed up by Tumblr? I mentioned that I was doing super scientific research on the OT9 and I’m curious how you see the chemistry working between Mahiru and the cast members she doesn’t interact with as much on-screen (like Futaba and Juuna, maybe Maya a bit too?) How she goes from being rivals with Hikari to, well, lovers, is also a weird one that I’m trying to work out in a natural way. Thoughts on what attracts each one to her? Thanks!
I’ve actually talked about how I think Hikari specifically would start a relationship with Karen and Mahiru that boiled down to basically Hikari just bluntly asks Karen and Mahiru to kiss her one day and Karen is a puppy so she was like yeah ok! and Mahiru got her gay courage up and went for it. So probably like that, Hikari just blurts it out and Mahiru gets her gay courage up and goes in for it.
But as for everyone else I feel like it’d probably be something like: Mahiru is naturally really sweet and loving and big sister like and she’d end up caring for all these dumb kids in their own special way that they each need. Like Claudine really needs someone to check up on her and tell her when she’s working too hard and needs a break, and someone like Kaoruko needs attention and love, and someone like Junna needs quiet companionship and so on and so forth. And since Mahiru is the kind of person, the kind of older sister, to be firm but loving so she wouldn’t let any of them give any stupid fucking excuses and deep down I have this weird feeling that they’d all really respond to that kind of structure in their lives, just like Hikari did.
Especially because I feel like Claudine and Maya are the kind of people to be like oh we’ll take a break in a minute it’ll be fine, but then they’d keep going for way too long, but Mahiru would tell them to sit their asses down right now, no fucking buts, sit down, and they would just have no idea how to handle that brand of love and caring. Then before anyone knows it they’re all super fond of Mahiru and they all respect her and listen to her and oh fuck why does my heart beat so fast what the fuck is this???? kind of thing.
