my screenwriting class especially is full of them. when the professor asked for suggestions of drama shows we could create a mock script for, one girl suggested Pretty Little Liars and three fucking dudes straight up LAUGHED AT HER. and one of them was like, "yeah sure, why don't we write a script for Nashville while we're at it?" and another girl next to me said quietly "I like Nashville...." I was so fucking pissed!!!!

like they all were suggesting the same 3 goddamn shows over and over again (Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Walking Dead) and we're expected to respect their boring tastes because these shows are aimed towards men/popular among men
but shows that are aimed towards women/popular among women (and the women who watch them) are 100% worthy of ridicule even in a (supposedly) professional classroom setting
