Oh, to be young and in love. They hadn’t been first loves. MJ wasn’t entirely sure who Peter’s first love actually was -- Betty? Liz? Gwen, who had taken his heart and shattered it? MJ definitely wasn’t sure whose hers was. She had given little pieces of herself to so many people that it was hard to keep track. Those weren’t her proudest moments, but time had a tendency to mellow people out and slap them with retrospection. Maybe MJ didn’t feel so young anymore. That was fine. MJ did love Peter and that was great.
“I dunno if I like this place.” She twirled a noodle carefully around the prongs of her fork. It was surprisingly challenging to order good Italian food in the City sometimes. Her spaghetti bolognese wasn’t half bad but it wasn’t anything to write home about. Setting her fork down, Mary Jane blotted at her lipstick with her napkin. “So, I have something to tell you. It’s good news. At least, it is to me. I’m excited.”
