A very bad fall, one that he wished others hadn’t seen, but… the Prime was not granted his wish. Optimus shifted his weight on his frame, trying to steady his wheels on the uneven ground. The gravel was made even more unsteady by his fall from the highway above and now he had to spend the rest of the solar cycle buffing the dings and scratches out of his finish.
It was bad enough that the battle prior to this drive had ended with no progress towards peace; this was just what the humans called ‘added insult to injury.’
The coast was clear, so activating his T Cog, Optimus intended to climb the incline to reach the road above. The whir and grind of gears, mixed with an uncomfortable grunt from the Prime’s vox, indicated just how bad the tumble had been. The blows he took from the battle must have been worse than he realized.
“I wish I could ease my pride and decline your offer, but I cannot…”
Jazz’s concern was clear on his face as he peered down towards Optimus, and, without another word, he was scaling down the hillside. He slid more times than he would care to admit, but he reached the bottom in a far gentler manner than the Prime had.
He delicately crept closer, doorwings flared not only for balance, but so the sensors, dialed as high as they could go, would alert him to any fall risk before he or Optimus got hurt any worse.
“How’s it lookin’? Are ya gonna be able t’ make it back up there?” Oh, he desperately hoped so. Prime was a much larger mech than he, and regardless of form, Jazz didn’t have the strength to carry him.
Still, the best quality humans had was their tendency to put roads everywhere. Maybe they’d be able to find another.
“...I’ve never seen ya fall like that while drivin’. What happened?” A brief pause. “... Are ya hurt worse than ya said from th’ battle?”
