I just realized Jacob Elordi is starring in his third movie adaptation of a novel. Frankenstein, Wuthering Heights, now Dog Stars.
Finally got to read "The Dog Stars" and loved it!!! π I had been meaning to read it for a while knowing the movie that's coming out later this year by Ridley Scott. This book had a different writing style but one I got used to it I couldn't put it down. I loved Hig and all the characters, especially his dog Jasper. I normally don't read that much dystopia fiction, but this book reminded me of one of my favorite shows LOST and how they created a found family and learned to survive together after a pandemic killed most of the people worldwide. I think Jacob Elordi is going to be great as Hig, a pilot who lost his wife, baby son, and mother, and only has his dog trying to live in this new world and helping the families left in their area. Josh Brolin should be perfect too as Bangley, a rough survivor that ends up becoming a father/uncle to Hig. I also loved the romance too between Hig and Cima, Margaret Qualley's character, a doctor who also lost her husband and was trying to have a baby with too. If done right this should be a great movie as even with everything that happened to them, they're surviving and finding hope.
