George Carey Testified Today and the BBC barely reported
So - hereâs an interesting thing.
George Carey - the former Archbishop of Canterbury - testified before the panel on Child Sexual abuse today.
It was reported on the PM program but I cannot find a link on the BBC News Website to any hint of the story.
Itâs almost as if they want to bury the story.
Basically the report said he covered up - mostly through incompetence and disbelief - the crimes of one of his bishops who was later sent to prison for raping young men and boys. (Peter Ball)
And the BBC News Website doesnât mention it at all.
Kind of curious, donât you think.
The reason I was looking for a link was I was going to lead into a comment about the whole #metoo movement. But this, to me, is far more appalling.
The BBC News Website appears to be hiding this story, or at least not reporting it as openly as it should.
Why? To cover up the fact an Archbishop of Canterbury was responsible for not only actively preventing a bishop in the Church of England being investigated and possibly prosecuted, but also for letting him start serving as a bishop again?
For giving him (I think) ÂŁ17,500 to go on holiday after he retired when his victims were ignored - despite sending letters to Archbishop Carey about what Bishop Peter Ball had done?
Why would the BBC News Website want to hide all this and not bring it to the publicâs attention, especially since it reported on it less than two hours ago on the radio?
