How to Wander
I was walking along Richmond Road on Staten Island today, and came by one of those LinkNYC monoliths. It was flashing the usual mix of advertisements and "helpful facts," when by sheer coincidence, a "Field of Dreams" moment, up comes this quote from one of my literary heroes, Pete Hamill. He's just talking about Manhattan, but it really sums up my philosophy of photographing New York City as a whole:ย
โThe wanderer in Manhattan must go forth with a certain innocence, because New York is best seen with innocent eyes.โย
