Egon and Peter genuinely make me so sad in concept
Can you imagine having this undying faith in one person for years. Literal years. You trust him with your life over and over and over again. Whatever he says, wherever he goes, you will always follow. Regardless of what you think. Because it's him.
Then one day, he seemingly snaps. And your one area of expertise and ability fails you. Not only can you not understand some one but you can't understand the most important person in your life.
And then he disappears. He leaves you and your friends with no trace of himself. You have literally nothing left of him. And so, with broken trust and lost memories, you do the only thing you can and go back to your last remaining tie. The one thing you always hated but he was so good at.
Only to find out, decades later, that he hadn't been wrong. He hadn't been crazy. You had failed him by not trusting in him as you always had.
Peter Venkman is a stupid homosexual bitch.
And from the other point of view:
You have this man who has been by your side, for some odd reason, since the beginning. He's a pain in the ass but he never loses faith in you. Somehow. You can always count on him to follow right behind you, even if it means you'll hear his complaints the entire time.
Then, one day, your entire world is thrown off. Something major is going to happen that puts everyone, including him, at risk. But he doesn't believe you. For the first time, seemingly ever, that faith wavers.
So for his and the rest of humanity's safety, you have to betray his trust. And the trust of the rest of your friends.
So you spend the rest of your life away from them. Constantly distant from people you care about. Only for it all to be for nothing because it gets you before you can get it. And the only time you see them again is as a haunting. A memory made of ectoplasm and psychokinetic energy.
Egon Spengler is also a homosexual bitch.
Can you tell I'm upset about them again? How stupidly tragic they are?
