An update on Baby:
She's up and moving around now!!! Chased me through the house screaming for food like normal, insists on snuggling me and laying on my chest!!!
Scared my nephew. He went to sleep thinking she was going to pass away and screamed that she was a zombie when he woke up and saw her.
But the important thing is she's acting almost entirely normal. As soon as the vet office opens (MONDAY. They aren't open on the damn weekends apparently?!) we're taking her. I'm going to save up as much money as I can to help pay for it and any prescriptions she may need.
This is an old picture, a couple months old. Don't let her looks fool you, she's almost 9! She just very smol for some reason.
I realize I failed to post an update for this. But:
SAMPSONITE UPDATE!!! :D
He is alive and well. I think he is a smidge traumatized (which is expected) because he’s a lot more jumpy now when handling him. But I’ve also not been handling him as much because I didn’t want to stress him out while he was healing.
I’m actually hoping on getting him some tank upgrades at the moment. The large driftwood we had before got moldy from the humidity in the tank. We left on a trip and I told the pet sitter to mist him a bit more because of the shedding problems and… it was a bit too moist. And then it spread to the vines I had set up and it was just. Ugh. A mess.
So right now we just have some smaller pieces and he’s not happy about it. I saw somewhere that you could bake the wood to sanitize? I feel like that’s a good way to burn my house down though so it’s currently just sitting outside.
Yeah, the set up is awful but we are coping.
I also don’t have live plants because they are expensive, a pain to maintain, and only tempt the cats more
One year ago today, Cookie was diagnosed with an aggressive form of bone cancer where we had to have her left leg amputated.
She has since finished chemo therapy with continuous clear X-Rays and we hope that trend continues as she is still going strong. She's literally herself, just minus a leg. She's one Tough Cookie!
Faye and I have not forgotten the incredible generosity so many of you showed us last year where we asked for donations to help fund her operation.
To this day, I'm still in awe at how many kind people took time out of their day to either signal boost or even donate for her surgery. It's indescribable the overwhelming joy and gratitude I feel in my heart.
Thank you. Thank you SO much!!!
Well I came home to a new family member today

Pet Update 🪦🥀
Unfortunately, my baby 🐢 didn't make it. he passed away yesterday.. I consulted the vet yesterday morning and the doctor said he had internal bleeding bcs his poop was brown. he suggested to me to use antibiotics, i had to pried open Meep's mouth to give him 1 drop of diluted antibiotics.
he was still moving, sometimes alert, then immediately slept again. i put him in a separate container so he was much warmer.
I finished making sure he was at least okay around noon then i took a nap, when i woke up he was looking at me then i laid down on bed for a few minutes again. by the time i came out again, he looked as if he was asleep but it felt weird. at first i didn't want to startle him bcs he slept soundly & finally not heaving. but then i saw his mouth was slack, i moved the container a bit (he usually noticed even just a shadow moving near him). he didn't move.. that's when i knew he was gone.
sigh
well.. i knew he wasn't going to make it bcs it's unlikely for hatchling 🐢 to survive this disease, also lack of knowledge & preparation on my end. could be lack of proper environment for a sick 🐢 too.. but i tried. he tried to survived too, so i didn't give up. but alas.. i have to say goodbye to this tiny baby Meep. I only had him for a month, he was only the size of a coin (3cm/1inch) but he sits right there in my heart, always.
i buried Meep under my late father's mango tree, next to Angel (my late Pomeranian). i will keep a turtle pet again, i promised myself i will have a turtle or two again but not now. at least now i know better just because my first turtles was so so easy to take care of, doesn't mean the next will be the same. and i do know i always love animals so i know i will want them to live happily in the best way i can provide for them.
i miss Meep already. usually, when i go out of my room at night there's his basking lamp turned on in the corner. now it's back to a shadowed corner. it takes time ofcourse to get used to again, even if I only had Meep for 1 month.
here's some pictures of Meep.. thankyou all who have loved him & support me
here are my faves
No wayyy, it’s me back again with another animal update 💃🏾
This time I didn’t get them from work lol.
These are my newest babies, a pair of female (mostly) hairless rats! They are so teeny tiny and sweet and I love them sm 🥹
I want to learn their personalities before I name them so they don’t have names yet. But so far one is super shy and timid, and the other has insane crackhead energy and gets the zoomies every 10 minutes lol.
-
Also that’s just their travel cage I used to take them home in!
This is their current cage with the one who gets the zoomies, zoomin lol
-
Also in case anyone was curious, I now have 14 pets all together (not counting our two family cats). I have 5 snakes, a mouse, three betta fish, a green anole, a crested gecko, an African fat tailed gecko, and now my two rats!
Yes, that is a lot, but I’m more than able to care for all of them and love them all.
And I do not plan on getting more anytime soon lol
3•1•24 || Minion made it hard to leave bc I just love his cuddles so much. He usually likes to be alone so this was the best morning ever. Thankfully, we didn’t have too many errands and he was back to being his cuddly self again in no time. Now they’re both napping and being lovable.
