A couple of days ago I had the great honour of hanging out with the legendary Peruvian musician @mikigonzalezmusic !! When I was a kid here in the 80’s he was one of the main rockers of the era. Then when I was a teen in the 90’s, he released the first Peruvian Reggae record (which vinyl I just captured and had him sign!). And then in the early 2000’s he started producing electronic music mixed with ethnic Peruvian music, making him a pioneer of a genre that is so popular these days! We had actually met online 10 years ago, when he graciously allowed me to use a song for the beginning of my documentary “Positive Creations”. Then a few years ago, after I had finished one of my workshops at @chapelofsacredmirrors , we briefly bumped into each other super randomly at a Mexican restaurant in Wappinger Falls, NY! So it was so cool to finally have a proper hang in Lima, check his home studio, listen to his new beats and then go out to a classic Barranco restaurant! Good to eat some great Peruvian food and exchange stories! If I told my child self all of this, he wouldn’t believe me!! Blessed n grateful! Now go n follow @mikigonzalezmusic and go enjoy to his music on Spotify! #mikigonzalez #peruvianlegend #childhoodheroes #akundun #peruvianrock #shamanicelectronic #music #vinyl #barranco #agozarsabroso (at Barranco, Lima, Peru) https://www.instagram.com/p/B9ZY3uGHdhj/?igshid=zyetcgf00lfu
